    Good morning, DJ Chloe!

Just call me Mary. I’m a single mom. Since birth my son never saw his father’s face personally. Just in some photos on Facebook. Masaya kaming mag-ina. Masaya na rin ang tatay niya with his new family. But my son is already four. Nagulat na lang ako ng magtanong siya sa kapatid ko why his father left us. ‘Di ba daw kami mahal ng tatay niya. I’m trying to communicate with him and his siblings but there’s no response. I don’t know how to tell my son about this, how to explain everything ng hindi siya nasasaktan. He is my weakness but he is also my only strength. Please, I really do need your advice.

    Mary

    Dear Mary,

Just tell him the truth ng walang kadramahan. Tell him it’s not because of him and it’s not his fault. There are things he cannot understand yet because he is just a child but since you are the mother, it is your duty to ease it out to him–the reality without the senseless drama. Don’t feed him things he doesn’t need, malalaman niya rin ang totoo. Sila kasi magdadala niyan. So Mary, before you talk to your son, pray and ask God to give you the right words to say. You’re a good mother, don’t ever forget that.
