Noodle soup is a perfect comfort food in cold weather. We are in the middle of this rainy season and oftentimes we want something to eat that soothes our throat and bring us to complete sweating.
So, here are some of the popular noodles soup here in Asia that you might love.
1. JAPANESE RAMEN


First in the list is one of those noodles soup that Filipinos love. Actually, Metro Manila is amusingly rich with Japanese restaurants that offer Ramen noodle soup.
Ramen, though a Japanese dish, is consist of Chinese-style wheat noodles with meat or fish-based broth and primarily flavored with soy sauce or miso. Toppings can be sliced pork, dried seaweed and green onions.
Japan has many variations of Ramen, according to their respective prefecture.
Of course, before eating Ramen, don’t forget to say: “Itadakemasu!” (I humbly receive!)
2. MALAYSIAN LAKSA


With our classic and popular ‘gata,’ and bit of a spicy thing, Laksa is a must-try!
Laksa is the Malaysian spicy coconut noodle soup. It can also be found in other Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
This soup is very rich, fragrant and a bit spicy. It is also loaded with classic Malaysian toppings.
In other parts of Malaysia, don’t be surprised if you learn that the other kind of Laksa is kind of a strong curry flavor and not made with coconut broth.
3. CHINESE WONTON


This noodle soup is one of the best sellers and all-time favorite in all Chinese restaurants in the Philippines and it seems familiar to a lot of us.
Often being mistaken with ‘siomai’ but wontons are very delicate things that is filled with vegetables and usually pork. Wonton soup is served in flavorful chicken soup with sesame oil and white pepper.
Give it a try! Homemade wonton soups are easy to make. You will be surprised on how easy it can be cooked. You can look easy recipes that will fit your taste.
4. KOREAN GUKSU


Like Filipinos, Koreans often associate noodles with longevity. Guksu is a special occasion noodles, also called as festivity and banquet noodles, that’s why it is usually served in birthday parties and weddings.
Originated long time ago, from 6000 BC to 5000 BC, Guksu is classified into different kinds, according to preparation: beef broth-based, noodles with hot clear broth, the cold buckwheat, cold noodles with vegetables, noodles with cold soybean broth and the knife-cut noodles.
According to a Korean chef, Guksu is best made with kimchi, dried anchovies, kelp, radish, and onion that gives plenty of flavor and umami and a bit of sweetness.
5. FILIPINO MAMI


Of course, our country’s pride and is totally world class! Mami!
When cooking Pinoy chicken Mami, it is simple and basic. Just add trimmings of chicken, fresh egg, flavorful broth. fried garlic bits and green onions.
The secret for this soup is to spend more time and effort in dealing with the broth. Flavor of soup comes from the bones, chicken neck, wing and back bones.
It will take you few hours in preparation but it will surely bring you to heaven!
