  Dear DJ Chloe,
  I am currently a senior high school student, and I must say, I really do enjoy listening to your station, especially while I study for my exams. As I am a graduating student, I have never ever felt more pressured in my life so far. I am aware that choosing a course for college is one of the most crucial decisions that I need to make. I wanted to take up psychology, because as a HUMMS student, I really am fascinated by how the human mind works. However, my parents compelled me to take up nursing or computer engineering. They were so set on their decision that they were the ones who signed me up for those courses in multiple schools. As obedient as I am to them, I wanted to start making decisions for myself, with my preferred college course being the first of them. I passed all the four (4) schools so far, and I still had three (3) more to go. I really do want to take up my first love, psychology, but I don’t want to disappoint my parents by putting their efforts to waste. I am very conflicted with these feelings. I do want to pursue what I want and make my heart happy. DJ Chloe, what should I do in this situation?

  Hi Diego,
  Did you already talk to your parents about this? Have you told them what you’re telling me now? If not, then I suggest you go talk to them and tell them what you really want. I am pretty sure they will understand. If you take up a course you do not like, you might not do well and you might end up shifting, then it’s a waste of time and money. Tell them what you want and why you want to take up psychology. I always believe you will be more successful, and you’ll do well in school kapag gusto ko ang kursong kinukuha mo. God bless.
