Coldplay called NASA to play their song “Higher Power” on space!

July 7, 2021

  • DJ Shai, Will Champion & Guy Berryman of band Coldplay talk about the latest release called “Higher Power.”

The song is about finding one’s inner “astronaut” or limitless abilities. To open a new era with their upcoming ninth studio album, the band released this new single accompanied by a live feed from the International Space Station (ISS).

During their chat, DJ Shai and the two band members talk about the single being broadcast on ISS, releasing and promoting their music in the pandemic era. Alongside, they tackled eco-consciousness and climate positivity as part of their advocacy as a band. “The world’s focus should really shift to helping to reduce the impacts of humans on the earth”, says Will. The band members take on science-fiction interests, visuals for their upcoming studio album, and fan base names through “Fast Play with Coldplay.”

Aside from their new single, Coldplay is also known for their most played song entitled “Something Just Like This,” featuring The Chainsmokers, with 1.5 billion listens. They also have 43 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
