Affairs Are More Than What They Seem

  I got pregnant at the age of 22 and got married at the same age; And, now we’re 8 years married. My husband is not sweet, though a good provider. I worked in a department store after I graduated from college and there I met this guy…

  We started texting each other and never realize that I’m falling for him. It happened slowly. We’d eat together during breaks, sabay din kami uuwi kapag-off na. Until, I just found myself deeply involved with him. We started getting involved sexually and had an affair as well, but he told me that he’s not ready for the commitment and he only treats me as a “special friend”.

  So, I decided to cut the communications with him and just focus on my family. But now he started texting me again, and I can’t help myself but to talk to him again and start seeing each other again. I got easily hurt and when he didn’t text me back and I felt that he’s taking me for granted. I am in love with him.

  Dear Lissie,

  You made having an affair so plain and simple. You fell into his trap. He made you feel like kayo, pero hindi kayo. M’am, no label ang gusto niya. You are his favorite past time, sinabi niya na di ba? “Special friend” lang kayo. In this time and age, nag-iba na ang definition ng “friend”, may added ng term…with benefits. Real friends don’t go to bed together. Sa kinalakihan kong panahon, mga taong may relasyon lang ang nagsasama sa kama. Ngayon kahit mag kaibigan, pwede na.

  Let me point out some things, why some men opt to have a “brief” affair with a married woman.

  1. It’s safe. If she gets him pregnant, she has a husband na sasalo.
  2. She is expected to know about birth control and how to not get pregnant.
  3. They are experienced , especially in bed.
  4. Married women are nurturing, simply because they’re also mothers.
  5. They think hindi siya mag hahabol since she is married.

  Those are just a few of what I have gathered from friends who are into something like this. Inputs ng mga lalaki ‘yan. Pero come to think of it, if the husband finds out about this, siguradong gulo. Kasi nakakalalaki, ‘di ba? But you know what, there is only one thing I know, and this truth applies to anything and everything, “Life has a way of putting you through, what you put other people through.”

  Hindi ko na alam ano na nangyayari sa ating panahon. But I am certain, one day, we will all face God and we will all be accountable for all the things we have done in this world. So, while you have time and while you can, try to fix your life my dear. Choose to do what’s right and I know you know what’s right.
