Work For Your Dreams

  Hi DJ Chloe, call me Ashley.

  I just want to seek an advice and inspirational words from you. I’m already 21 but I can’t seem to see my life on going somewhere. I’m stuck on where am I right now. No progress, no signs on having my dreams and goals in the future. When I was a kid, I always dreamed to achieve something .To experience a once in a lifetime chance of winning in a competition, finishing my studies, having a man that I’ll grow old with, and to travel . That’s my dream. When you think about it, it seems like it’s so easy to have them. But in reality it’s really hard. Like my situation right now .

  I’m not beautiful as much as I try to be attractive or presentable. No guy is still interested in me. I don’t have any financial capability to fulfill my dream of finishing my studies and to travel. Plus my parents are not supporting me at all. Instead they are asking me to continue on job as a call center agent to help them which is hindi natin matatanggihan dahil parents natin sila and they really need my help. Last, I don’t know kung ano ba ang talent ko o kung meron ba na special gift na binigay sa’kin si GOD. I’ve always wanted to experience to compete using my talent kahit isang beses lang sa buhay ko pero sa 21 years of existence ko hindi ko maramdaman na may special sa’kin. Ang lalo pang nagpapapalala nu’n ay hindi ko din maramdaman na nag-eexist ako sa mundong ‘to. I never felt how it is to be special or appreciated .

  DJ Chloe, I always cry at night because every time I browse my social media accounts. Nakikita ko na successful na ‘yung mga kaklase ko pati ‘yung mga pinapakopya ko dati sa mga exams. Ako, ito, nastuck na sa pagiging call center agent and as much as I try to escape, feeling ko hanggang dito na lang ako.

  DJ Chloe, oo nga pla nakalimutan ko sabihin na pangarap kong maging athlete noon kaso it takes money nowadays to be a great athlete and also you should start as early as 7 years old. Kaya masakit man itong dream ko na ‘to giniveup ko na. 16 na ‘ko ng marealize ko ‘to e. Hope to hear your advice. More power to your show.

  Hi Ashley,

  Before the whole world can appreciate you, you have to appreciate yourself first! Some people in all of their attempts to become famous, to become rich, end up in prison.

  There is no short cut in life. Akala mo ba ang experiences mo ngayon , wala lang?  You are what you do in this world, hija. If you are in the call center industry, by all means work your ass off and be a team leader! Don’t just be contented answering calls or whatever. Andyan ka na. Umambisyon ka na dyan. Buti nga dyan hindi required ang diploma.

  Back in the days when I was a newbie in the radio industry,  sa probinsya pa ‘yun, I thought that what I am doing is something I will do for the time being. Never in my wildest dream that I understood nor even thought to myself that what I am doing is a preparation for something larger than life! A lot of provincial radio jocks would kill to be given a shot in Mega Manila. And me? Ano bang meron ako? Mas marami magagaling umingles kesa sa’kin. Mas maraming magaganda ang boses kaysa sa’kin. But what do I have? I have this passion! Passion in what I do that even if I don’t get paid I would still do this for the love of the craft! Even if I feel sick for as long as I can walk and I can talk on air  I WILL DO MY SHOW.

  I love music, with all my heart. Ke upscale music pa ‘yan or J Brothers or April Boys, I appreciate them all and that’s a pre-requisite to being a good jock.

  And my dear, you’re only 21. I had my first car, a 1999 Suzuki Esteem Wagon when I was 38 years old. I bought it out of my savings, working on anything my hands get on.

  You want so many things Isha , that’s what’s written in your letter. I only wanted to earn a living and have a decent life. But God rewarded my passion by blessing me with a life where I can influence people and make a living out of it. So you see… “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21)  ask God what His purpose is for you… and how do you do that? talk to Him in prayer.
