Which way to go?

    Hi DJ Chloe,

I’m an avid listener of Easy Rock since 2012, if I’m not mistaken, because of your music. Well, I’m still in college back then and now I’m a teacher in a private school. My problem is I’m falling to my student. I know it’s wrong. It’s in our rule that we should not fall in love with our student. But I can’t help it. This kid is from Singapore and he become my student because he has to take back lessons for History and Filipino subjects. So we have 3 hours a day together. And I love being with him. We always have our chit chat on Facebook and Twitter until late night. And we’re open in everything. Like family problems, financial and so on. And we go out but of course with other students. But I know it’s so wrong. What will be the best thing to do to unlove him? Thank you for helping me. More power. God bless!

    Ms. M
    Dear Ms. M,
“I know it’s wrong. It’s in our rule…” Ma’am, if I can remember it right, one of the things my teachers back in school would always say is: “FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS YOU CANNOT FOLLOW?” ‘Yan ang mga madalas kong marinig. And I believe that rules or instructions are created so there won’t be chaos, right? I don’t think there’s something wrong with falling in love. Its’ a wonderful feeling. But you falling in love with your student that might cloud your judgment as a teacher. I’m not saying he’s not doing good in school but you just might give him grades he doesn’t deserve. If you know what I mean, it’s a very simple rule by your academe and you can’t follow? Eh, ikaw ang unang role model dapat ng estudyante mo mam ‘di ba. If you can’t help, siguro it would be best if you find another school to teach. Ano bang as importante sa’yo sa ngayon? Your love for him or your profession?

    Sincerely,
    Chloe
