5 ways to hydrate yourself in this scorching heat

    The weather can be extremely hot these past few days making your bodies sweat more than the usual thus, hydrating your body more. But how much fluid does your body really need?

    According to studies, the number of fluids that you need depends on the age, weight, the environment that you are currently in and the activity that you are engaging in. For example, if you are in a more humid country, you are more likely to lose more fluid thus more fluid intake should be done to ensure that you won’t get dehydrated. If you sweat a lot during an activity, you must replace it with fluids.

    So, how do you stay hydrated aside from drinking eight glasses of water? Here are some of the things that you can try to help you stay hydrated according to medexpress.com.

    Start with Soup

    Go for broth-based soups. Either served cold or warm, a soup is still a soup, and it will still keep you hydrated.

    Eat your veggies

    Most veggies are 90% water so it will help you hydrate. Eat veggies like lettuce, cabbage, celery, tomatoes, bell peppers and carrots. Next time don’t think twice in including vegetables in your daily meals.

    Snack on Fruits

    Just like eating veggies, consuming fruits can also be a big help for your hydration. Most fruits contain more water and you have so many options for your fruit intake. Either you snack on it, or you can just simply turn it in a fruit juice or smoothie. You can always choose a tastier way to hydrate.

    Oatmeal can also hydrate you

    Oatmeal absorbs the milk or water when you cook it thus making it a good source of liquid. This is best taken during breakfast. If you don’t like the usual oatmeal with milk, you can try other variations. You can put fruits and nuts in your bowl for an added flavor. Who said your hydration has to be boring?

    Pick your carbs right

    Did you know that your choice of carbs can help you hydrate? Yes, you have read that right. Certain noodles can be a good source of fluid. Take zucchini noodles for instance. This type of noodles contains 95% of water. Sounds like a lot of fluid, right?

    Aside from the mention above, you can always simply depend on water. Water as simple as that can play a huge role in your hydration. Take note: once you sweat, make sure that you replace the fluid that you loss due to sweating.
