6 Hints In 2016’s Food Trend

    1. SPICY TO SPICIER

    While Sriracha made its way to the spotlight in 2015, it is expected that diners will be more interested in spicy food in 2016. Foodies will get a taste of Africa for it’s the new Mexican, since a lot of chefs are venturing the African spices.

    As for with the adventurous palates, this is your year because more restaurants will try African and Southeast Asian cuisines.

    2. THROW NOTHING

    The coming year will be a leap of faith, not only for the chefs, but also for  diners. Chefs will go beyond their traditional way of cutting meat and using vegetables. A lot of chefs will try to use everything from their sources to provide a new kind of dish that is edible and marketable.

    And to vegans out there, you are not exempted from this. Don’t be surprised if the burger you’re eating is made of vegetable pulps.

    3. THE FOOD IS ON FIRE

    This one goes for the lovers of anything roasted. Whether it’s marshmallow, bread, chicken, or rice, this is your year.

    A lot of menus are offering roasted and grilled from appetizers to entrees to drinks and to desserts!

    4. “HOW DID IT GET ON MY PLATE?”

    The vegan community is increasing and most of them wants to know how their food is made, and where the ingredients came from. One way to make sure that their intake is still under their standards.

    However, even regular diners are concern on how their food reached their plate. More food hubs in 2016 will tell its customers where and how their dishes are made. Consumers now want to know everything about what you can offer them.

    5. FAST FOOD UPGRADE

    More fast food will venture into the healthy menu and upgrade the kind of food they serve to the market. Foodies are becoming conscious now on their intakes. The fast food industry must cope with the needs of its customers.

    6. THE BOOM OF FOOD APPS

    As much as you can get a ride home through an app, you can also now eat through it. More and more applications are being developed that will make food easier to reach. You can now have the food that you want with the tip of your fingers. Examples of these apps are Postmates, Caviar, Munchery, Maple, Instacart.

    In the metro, we have Food Panda for food delivery services.

    2016 will be a year of digital entering and ravaging the food industry.
