  • Have you ever had trouble remembering things? This means that your brain feels fatigue and overworked. So, when this happens, your whole body becomes affected. For us to keep our brain healthy, here are five foods that you might want to eat:

    1. Leafy Greens

Leafy greens like spinach, broccoli, and collards include minerals like vitamin E,carotenoids, and flavonoids that protect against dementia and cognitive decline. Another advantage is that it is an excellent source of folate, a natural form of vitamin B9 that is essential in the development of red blood cells. A healthy amount of folate in our bodies is vital since deficiencies can lead to neurological diseases such as depression and cognitive aging and impair neurotransmitter production. It is the process by which the message or functions of the body are communicated to the brain’s nerves.

    1. Fatty Fish

Our brain requires Omega 3, which aids in the reduction of beta-amyloid protein levels in the blood. This is the protein that aggregates in the brain and causes Alzheimer’s disease. Fatty fish, such as salmon, tuna, and sardines, are high in Omega 3, which is necessary for learning and memory. It also has additional benefits for our brain, as it may postpone mental decline and aid in the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.

    1. Berries

Berries are high in antioxidants, phytonutrients, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which aid with memory retention and lower brain inflammation. Furthermore, flavonoids are natural plant pigments that give berries their vibrant colors. Berries also increase memory and brain cell communication.

    1. Tea and Coffee

Tea and coffee include antioxidants and caffeine, which aid in the consolidation of new memories. These two have the effect of increasing alertness, keeping the brain attentive, and blocking adenosine, which makes a person feel sleepy. Furthermore, caffeine improves mood through increasing dopamine levels in our bodies.

    1. Nuts

Nuts are high in protein and are good for your health; they also help with memory. Aside from being a source of protein, it is also high in Omega 3, which is beneficial to the heart. A healthy heart is linked to a healthy brain. It contains antioxidants and vitamin E, which are beneficial to the brain and help delay mental deterioration.

Finally, all of these meals serve to stimulate our brain, prevent cognitive decline, and avoid neurological illnesses like Alzheimer’s and depression. It also enhances brain-nerve communication and makes your brain more alert. These nutrients not only benefit our brain but also our bodies, particularly our hearts. Having a healthy brain is also having a healthy heart. Remember to take care of yourselves nonetheless; when you take too much of everything, it’s bad for our bodies and for ourselves in general.
