It’s the time of the year again for our campus babies! Some of our students are already back on their daily grind, while  the others are still sitting pretty at their homes and loving the K12 program. Oh, how we, yuppies, miss the student life!

And since we want you to enjoy school while it’s there, we’ll have a series of food articles for our students!  So if you’re part of the University Belt or you’re from the campus along Morayta and Mendiola, this one’s for you.

Well, also for foodies who love to hop from one place to another for good food!

    1. MANG TOOTZ FOOD HOUSE

If you’re a Thomasian, for sure you know Mang Tootz! Everyone’s favorite!

Every alumni, student, or just foodie, will always come back to its warm and good food, and efficient service! Anyone who comes in this legendary eatery will always make sure that he or she won’t miss its Banana-rhuma!

Banana-rhuma is their signature caramelized mini turon sprinkled with sesame seeds, milk powder, and cinnamon! You can buy it for 10 pesos for three pieces.

    2. DIMSUM TREATS

“Ang estudyanteng nagigipit sa Siomai Rice kumakapit.”

As long as there’s a university, there’s a siomai rice corner. But nothing would really beat Dimsum Treats because their siomai comes in larger bites that you can’t say “no” to extra rice!

TAKE NOTE: Always think twice before saying “yes” to their chili sauce. ;)

LOCATION: Dapitan St. / Asturias St., Sampaloc, Manila | OPERATING HOURS: 8am-2am

    3. KISS THE ICE

Experience something new with your ice cream.

Kiss The Ice is an nitrogen ice cream brand from Korea. They offer cheap handcrafted nitrogen ice cream topped with your choice of colorful and fun garnishing!

LOCATION: Recto Ave. and Legarda Str., in front of Mendiola Gate, Manila | OPERATING HOURS: Monday-Saturday, 11am-7pm

    4. CAFE UK CO.

Hangouts for the university “it” groups!

A 24-hour UK-themed cafe known for its spacious interior, good food, and everyone’s favorite: FAST INTERNET CONNECTION.

Everyone loves it because it’s open anytime and a good ambiance for chit-chats and even for studying solo or with friends.

LOCATION: G/F Dona Carmen Bldg 2, 2nd St cor Aguila St, San Miguel, Manila

    5. POTATO GIANT

    Shout out to potato monsters!

If you’re in love with potato balls and anything with potato this food stand is for you! Though the place is small, students still go and hangout here while munching on their bestsellers which are: cheesy potato balls, hash browns, twister, criss-cut fries, bacon quesadilla, and shakes!
