Google celebrates the most popular Pinoy dish: Adobo

  The Google Doodle will leave our mouth drooling! Fam, you might be pleasantly surprised when you go to the search engine. You’ll see one of the most popular dishes of Pinoy…adobo!

  Thanks, Google Doodle! To be exact, it features two kids who take in sniffs of the adobo meal with white rice. Of course, with its classic ingredients that include garlic, bay leaves, and sauce. Both soy sauce and vinegar. Yummers!

  

  When it comes to Filipino cuisine, one of the first dishes that comes to mind is the iconic adobo. So, here’s the good news, Fam! Google Doodle featured the classic and most popular dish of Pinoy! It’s one of the best dishes to represent our local food and because of its popularity, it has versatile recipes, may it be chicken or pork, they have their own unique twist.

  

  According to Google Doodle, ‘Adobo’ was first added to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) year 2006. It was included on the word list of the next OED quarterly update, released on this day in 2007.

  We all know that symbols play a huge part in our Filipino culture. We have the sampaguita as our national flower, the narra as our national tree, and of course, our country loves food so why not select a national dish? And yes! You’re right. It’s adobo!
