It’s Christmas Already When Your Family Do These Things Over Food

• Christmas is just around the corner and it’s the time of the year again when our family gets together. Also, it’s the season when your relatives will talk about the same thing they have talked about last year…unfortunately.

  Just like when…

  1. You are about to eat a spoonful of rice and your tita will come out of the blue and say, “tumataba ka na naman ba?” And the choice is yours if you’ll continue to make subo of that spoonful of rice or just walkout. Hahaha! Tita, please!

  

  2. It’s the season when you’ll catch up with your cousins and talk about your love life. It’s either you’ll be the bida-bida kid who’ll talk about your new/going strong relationship or you’ll be that cousin who eats your emotion in the corner.

  

  3. Of course, the never ending question where you work. Because your relatives think that you love company hopping. But there you go, you know that you have to answer each and every one of them who asks where you work and what do you do there.

  Sometimes, you just want to get up in a chair and announce like, “For everybody’s information so we won’t talk about the same thing every reunion, I am still working at *insert company’s name* as a *occupation*. I will just in form you in case I’ll transfer company. Thanks, family.”

  

  4. You don’t want to miss as well your titos and titas who talk about politics and brags their favorite politician. It’s your favorite season because for it’s not every day that you see your “political analyst” relatives. Hahahahaha! The never-before-heard stories of politicians are non-stop as if your titos and titas have prepared for a year for this time so that they have a contribution to the conversation. Hahahaha! Don’t you love your titos and titas?

  5. Also, they are not only “political analysts”. They are friends with Tito Boy Abunda because they know so much about celebrities. And again, the never-before-heard chismis about love teams and all. Bet the reason why Kris Aquino left channel two won’t be out of agenda. Hahahahaha!

  

  6. You don’t also want to miss your uncles or your lolo getting drunk because they get rich whenever they are intoxicated. Just joke around asking for money and they’ll give you more than you deserve because they are out of control. Hahahahahaha! You know what to do this Christmas, okay?

  

  7. Remember when your neighbor is so annoying because they do videoke-’til-they-drop kind of night? It’s on Christmas family reunions that you take revenge. Because your titos and titas do the same. They sing as if it’s their first time to hold a microphone. They sing every song familiar to them even if they do not know the lyrics and they do not know the right tune. And you know that you have taken revenge when they sing songs out of tune already.

  

  8. In these times as well that you get to see your little cousins or pamangkins growing up. You do not know what they did but they are growing and you stay the same–luhaan, sugatan, ‘di mapakinabangan. JK!

  

  9. Why won’t you love Christmas family reunions? It’s the time of the year that you get to eat your relatives’ specialty! Also, the over flowing food! It’s not always that you get food comma. Hahahaha! The best time to eat is when you are with the best people (even if they are annoying sometimes).
