Is Kimchi a wonder drug for COVID-19?

Who would have thought that your favorite Korean food can be a good defense against COVID-19?
More than a side dish, Kimchi can benefit you in ways you don’t know.
Traditional Kimchi is made from fermented Napa cabbage with garlic, pepper, ginger, and chili. It is aged for weeks or even months before serving.
Kimchi is best paired with meats and even mixed with rice to make kimchi rice. It can also be mixed with ramen for extra flavor. Southeast Asian countries sure is fond of having kimchi in their dining tables.
According to recent studies jointly conducted by the Worl Institute of Kimchi and Jean Bousquet a professor of Pulmonary Medicine at Montpellier University of France, the bioactive compounds present in kimchi can help lead to a milder case of COVID-19. As stated in inquirer.net, the metabolite produced from the fermentation contains properties to reduce oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.
The ingredients used in making kimchi are also good in enhancing the antioxidant defense system in the human body and helps in lessening coronavirus symptoms.
The institues are doing researches to prove kimchi’s effectiveness against COVID-19 are Korea Reasearch Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology and Jeonbuk National University.
