FRUITS
Store bananas and apples separately. Bananas and apples emit gas that makes other fruits ripen faster so if you want to prevent other fruits from spoiling, you must store them separately.
To prolong the shelf life of your bananas, make sure to wrap the stem to slow down the ripening process. You can also rip them apart and wrap them separately.
Soak your berries in vinegar and water before putting them in the fridge.
VEGETABLES
Use of paper towels can absorb any moisture and prevent your greens from rotting.
Soaking your veggies in water can also help them stay fresh and crunchy. You can cut them up and store it in jars full of water.
Wilted greens soaked in ice water can revive them.
MEAT
Storing them in the fridge can keep them fresh and you can also store it in an air-tight plastic bags to keep it from leaking. This can also keep your refrigerator clean.
Seafoods must be stored in tight-sealed bags to keep them in good condition.
BREAD
Put your left-over bread inside the fridge. This prevents the formation of the molds. Just make sure that you put it in the toaster first before consumption for better experience.
EGGS
Keeping the eggs in its original carton can help prolong its shelf-life and this prevents the egg from absorbing any odors or substance thus affecting its quality.
Despite all these tips, you should not forget to keep track of the expiration dates of your foods to make sure that it is still safe for consumption.
