Shania Twain to receive ‘Icon’ award at Billboard Women in Music 2016

Country legend Shania Twain will receive the 2016 Women in Music ‘Icon’ award at Billboard’s 11th annual Women in Music event on December 9 in New York City, according to Billboard.
The ‘Icon’ award celebrates an artist’s historic contributions to the music industry establish them among the highest class of performers.
Over the span of her three-decade career, she has earned four no. 1 albums on Top Country Albums with 2002’s ‘Up!’. Her smash hit album ‘Come On Over’ is the no. 1 country album of all time and the second best-selling album overall since Nielsen Music began tracking sales.

Aside from Shania who will be awarded at the said event, Madonna will also receive the 2016’s Woman of the Year while, Halsey will be named the ‘Rising Star’.
