The son of ‘Treat Her Right’ singer Roy Head, Sundance Head was crowned winner of the latest season of The Voice according to Billboard.
The 37-year-old singer competed under Blake Shelton’s team, thus making Shelton a five times champion over the course of the series.
Reflecting on his The Voice journey, Head admitted that his coach Shelton used to make him nervous. Shelton said his artist has a lot in common with him, praising Head’s dry sense of humor. “He’s a really sweet person, and I know he really generally wants to see me successful,” Head said of his coach.
Head previously appeared on the sixth season of American Idol in 2007, where unfortunately, he never made it past the top 16. He was also then signed with Universal Motown but he “rode the contract out” when the label did not release any of music after four years.
Billy Gilman of Team Adam placed second and We McDonald awarded third place, respectively.
The 12th season of The Voice will debut in February 2017. Former coach and Blake Shelton’s partner, Gwen Stefani will be coaching again and Cyrus will not be returning.
