The ‘Queen of Soul,’ Aretha Franklin is gravely ill, WDIV-TV Detroit confirms.
In a tweet, WDIV anchor Evrod Cassimy wrote that he has spoken with the family members Monday morning and they are asking for prayers this time.


Friends, on behalf of Franklin, told that she is resting in a Detroit hospital and surrounded by family and friends.
Spending 56 years in music industry as legendary singer and songwriter, Franklin has the third-most number of Grammy Awards for a female artist in history.
Last year, Franklin announced that she will retire after she release her new album. Her last performance was November 2, 2017, in an Elton John AIDS Foundation in New York.
