Why constant friends are better than best friends

  They say that you only have one best friend in this world. However, society has evolved over time and it wasn’t as hard to make friends. With the activities of people at this age, our exposure to other people becomes broader and broader. It’s easier to build relationships. So you find a lot of best people that sometimes become your best friends. These are the people you always want to be with. The people who you share a lot of things with; who knows you and your thoughts. These are the people who will remain friends with you even if you won’t talk or see for a long time.

  And those people are really for keeps.

  But there would be people who would be with you in your ups and downs…and in betweens. These are you constant friends. The people who didn’t leave you even if there’s no fun anymore. The people who stayed even if what you do is just stare blankly; who never let you go even if there’s nothing much to talk about.

  The people who already know that something’s up with your last tweet. And they make sure that they’ll message you because they want you to know that you’re not alone in this.

  The people who’ll never speak when you’re ranting how messed up your life is. They even fall in love with your love story.

  The people who’ll never get tired of fighting with you about the small and big things. The people who’ll continuously preach you what to do but can’t even figure out how to fix their own mess.

  The people who’ll laugh with you about the things you did wrong. The people you tell your frustrations freely because you never felt that you are a burden to them. The people you have inside jokes with. The people you fight with but you know that you’ll patch things up before the day ends. The people who won’t miss the changes in your life. The people who won’t let distance and time make them miss something from you. The people who knows your heart beat and understands every sound of it.

  The people who you thought are just friends but became family eventually.

  Keep them just like how you keep your siblings. Don’t let anything cut your strings. They are your another home and letting go of these people are as heart breaking as losing a lover. Your constant friends are the people who are in between of all your highs and lows; failure and success; happy and sad; good and bad. They are the people who looked past on the things you are not and accepted them wholly. They are the people who loved every piece of who you were, are, and will become.

  Friendships are made up of sugar, spice, and everything nice. But constant ones are made up of everything in everything and all the things in between even if they are not nice.
