If you are planning to go out for a last minute shopping, then you are on the right article! According to Spot.ph, commuters and motorists should expect heavy (well heavier since it is already heavy on a daily basis) traffic on Friday, December 21.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced last December 19 that December 21 is the day of “carmageddon.” The usual traffic congestion is expected to get worse on Friday. A lot of people are expected to either go home to their provinces or go to tourist destinations for the coming long weekend. Aside from this, people are also expected to flock to retail stores for last minute shopping.
According to MMDA, traffic flow can go as slow as 14 kilometers per hour, five kilometers than the usual. Possible “carmageddon” areas are Cubao, Ortigas, Ayala, Buendia and other areas with malls and bus terminals.
