P!nk receives star on the Walk of Fame

Pop singer Pink was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Tuesday according to ABS-CBN News.
Pink or known as Alecia Moore in real life reflected on her beginnings in the music industry and paid tribute to her father, who, according to her encouraged her to push her dreams. “Today for me is a celebration of something that my dad taught me and that is — to thine own self be true. There is a power in believing in yourself, there is a power in not giving up on life and not giving up on yourself,” she said.
Pink already received 20 Grammy nominations and three wins throughout her career.
She has already released seven studio albums and has sold more than 50 million records since her debut in 2000.
Pink started as a member of the girl group Choice and her career took off after that. She also released her first solo album “Can’t Take Me Home” in 2000 and her record certified double-platinum in the United States.
Her first Grammy was awarded in 2002 for “Lady Marmalade,” which also became the soundtrack of the film “Moulin Rouge.” Het two other Grammys were for best female rock vocal performance for “Trouble” in 2004 and in 2011 she got the best pop collaboration with vocals for the song “Imagine.”
According to Ellen DeGeneres, Pink is one of the most normal grounded person that you will meet.
