  Is it always wrong to date your best friend’s ex?

  You can date your best friend’s ex. However, there are things that you must consider. This is a serious matter because it can either make or break relationships – especially your relationship with your best friend.

  When does it become okay to date your best friend’s ex?

  1. IF IT’S AN OLD EX

  When you say an old ex, as in three boyfriends/girlfriend ago. If you are pertaining to that ex then maybe you can give the relationship a chance. However, it’s still is a-must to make sure that your bestie is 100% moved on before you give it a go. Having a serious and honest talk about it is the key.

  2. IF IT WAS NEVER SERIOUS

  If it was a puppy love or just a crushie thing or mutual understanding, then maybe it’s good to go. But it is still wise and sincere to talk about it with your best friend to clear things up. Let your bestie know that he/she matters to you that’s why you are letting him/her know about it.

  3. IF YOUR BESTIE AND THE EX HAD CLOSURE ALREADY

  It’s very important that they do not have hard feelings toward each other. Remember, if you guys become a couple they can’t get away from each other. They just can’t become civil. They should be friends, too – for you. They should have moved on and let go of their emotional baggage from their relationship. Like they do not get upset about each other anymore.

  4. IF IT’S NOT A BIG DEAL WITH THE BESTIE AND HE/SHE IS HAPPY ABOUT IT

  One of the blessings that you want to get when you enter a relationship is the blessing of your friends. Especially your best friend. If you are dating your bestie’s ex, it really matters that he/she is super okay and happy about it, like his/her initial reaction is happiness for you. Because if the first reaction is awkward then you’re up to some struggle.

  Dating your bestie’s ex might break the bro/sis code but it still depends. The key is to always consider the feeling and think in advance before things get worst. It’s wise to talk to your bestie before you become intimate. Honest and serious talk is always the key!
