Female artists among nominees at 2019 Americana Music Awards

  Contrary to other music awards, the Americana Music Awards Association announced that the nominees for the “Artist of the Year Award” are all female.

  Included in the list are Rhiannon Giddens, Brandi Carlile, Kacey Musgraves and Mavis Staples.

  Together with the four, Lori McKenna is the leading nominee with her album “The Tree” and earned three other bids for “By Degrees” and “People Get Old” where she is nominated for both artist and songwriter categories.

  The Awarding Ceremonies for the 2019 Americana Music Honors and Awards will be held on September 11, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
