Burj Khalifa lights up with Philippine colors for PH Independence Day

The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa lit up with colors of the Philippine flag for the first time in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day at exactly 9:40PM on June 12th, UAE time.
Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana shared, “I received a letter from Emaar to say that they want to pay tribute to the Filipinos by lighting up the Burj Khalifa with the colors of the Philippine flag. I was so delighted to hear that news because I know that it will inspire a lot of Filipinos in UAE.”
The event was made possible by the Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes who meet with the Emaar to ensure that the lighting of the tower event goes well. “This monumental occasion manifests the collective pride and joy of the Filipino Community in the UAE and their appreciation to the multi-cultural community in the country for welcoming them in this diverse society,” Cortes mentioned.
The news about the event was announced by the Philippines Consulate General in Dubai, the Philippines Embassy, and the Northern Emirates.

Burj Khalifa is 2,716 ft tall and it has 163 floors and 58 functioning elevators. It is known to be 3 times as tall as the Eiffel Tower in France and twice the height of the Empire State Building in America. The construction of the world’s tallest building ran for six years.
