It’s been weeks since we have been tackling about how worse Manila traffic gets day-by-day. Pinoy commuters have been tirelessly airing out their frustrations every time. And after all these (failed) dry runs, it seems like government is now open to the Pinoy commuters’ suggestions.
According to Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo, the palace is all ears to your suggestions. They can be sent to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Office of the President, or himself.
He also said, “Dati naman tayong open. In fact, kapag may nagmumungkahi sa opisina kong ganiyang, may sulat, binibigay ko kaagad sa MMDA.”
The spokesperson even offered his own suggestion and said that we should try for continuous 24-hour activities in the city to avoid congestions. “Can you imagine kung gagawin mong 24 hours ang activity, di kalahati niyan nasa night time, ‘yong kalahati nasa araw.”
Some of the solutions are as follows: Caleb Cosico of Waterdiet said through an open letter to the MMDA that they should switch the yellow lanes and designate it to private cars lane; Comedian Rodolfo “Jun” Sabayton proposed to replace private means of transport along EDSA with public utility vehicles for everyone. He thinks that it is just right to make the everyday commute makatao and to minimize air pollution.
These are just some of the prior suggestions from commuters and the palace is open to suggestions that will improve whatever problem the government faces.
