Lea Salonga says she is not performing in SEA Games opening

  Lea Salonga announces that she cannot perform at the opening ceremonies of the Southeast Asian Games on November 30 due to a prior schedule.

  In a series of tweets, Salonga describe that she’s leaving for the 14 shows of “Sweeney Todd” in Singapore.

  “Truth of the matter is this: I was asked to participate in the SEA Games opening ceremonies since I was already recording the theme song and filming its music video,” Salonga clarified.

  “However, I had to respectfully decline as I already had Sweeney Todd on my calendar. It was on my schedule for many months, if not a year,” she added.

  Lea Salonga is the singer of the SEA Games’ official theme song entitled “We Win As One” composed by the National Artist Ryan Cayabyab.
