Amazon Music has announced and launched their newest program called “Breakthrough” which is designed to provide global support to emerging artists from all over the world, July 15, Wednesday.
Included in the class are six initial artists namely the country singer Gabby Barrett, the R&B singer Kiana Lede, grime MC Jay1, alt R&B singer Arlo Parks, flok pop group Provinz, and German pop artist Malik Harris.
“Developing artists are the lifeblood of this business: They shape culture, they define trends and a lot of times labels aren’t in a position to support developing artists the way that they’d like to,” said Kirdis Postelle, global head of artist marketing from a stint as executive vp/general manager at Hitco.
Amazon Music has been active on programs supporting and boosting capabilities of emerging artists, including the “Weekly One” and “Artist to Watch.”
