During this pandemic, you are asked to stay at home and practice social distancing. How can you stay connected with your friends and loved ones?
Showing a little compassion will take you miles and miles in this pandemic. A simple message would mean a lot and make others feel included.
The World Health Organization (WHO) together with Department of Health (DOH), raised awareness on the importance of public mental health amid the COVID-19 pandemic as a commemoration for the World Suicide Prevention Day.
Since the pandemic is such a stressful time for everyone, they are encouraging Filipinos to reach out to their friends and loved ones.
They believe that with compassion and understanding for others it will be easier to recognize and educate ourselves on how to access help in critical times.
With people bound in their homes, losing jobs, or just anxious about their health, this can be a stressful time. Someone could be feeling helpless, isolated, and think that they have no reason to live.
Just lend your ears and who knows you could be saving their lives. It will be helpful to just be compassionate and not be judgmental about what they are going through.
Send your friends and loved ones that message. Catch up. Take a minute or two just to say hi. It’s not that tedious to just say hi. Always be kind because they have silent battles you know nothing about. You could’ve saved a life today with a simple hi.
