ICYMI: John Arcilla, Epi Quizon, Lara Maigue, artists perform new version of ‘Bayan Ko’

• The nationalist song ‘Bayan Ko’ has been performed in a new interpretation led by John Arcilla, Epi Quizon, Lara Maigue, and other artists, November 15, Sunday.

  Uploaded in ABS-CBN’s YouTube channel, the president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Nick Lizaso has provided the first excerpt of the ‘Bayan Ko’ rendition within the show entitled as ‘Awit at Tula: Pagbabalik Tanaw sa Unang Hari ng Balagtasan.’

  All the artists were seen dressed as frontliners and holding their own face masks as symbol of the sacrifices done by frontliners for the country, not just for COVID-19 response but also in times of calamities, director Ricky Davao explained.

  Aside from Arcilla, Quizon and Maigue, other artists who participated in the production namely, Michael V., Via Antonio, Sheila Valderrama-Martinez, Arman Ferrer, David Ezra, and ventriloquist Ony Carcamo.
