Amidst the global pandemic, Liter of Light launched a solar lighting movement in partnership with Good News Pilipinas and Rotary International.
Light It Forward is a global movement that aims to unite people from the media, artists, businesses, and service groups to do extraordinary things through building solar lights for communities without electricity in the midst of the global health crisis.
Easy Rock Manila’s very own DJ Nick and DJ Chloe participated in the Light It Forward Challenge and gave hope to a family who has no access to electricity. In a video uploaded on Easy Rock Manila’s Facebook page, DJ Nick tried to assemble a liter of light lamp.
According to DJ Nick, Liter of Light is a more sustainable alternative to support the need of light source to communities without electricity.
Aside from DJ Nick, DJ Chloe also took part of this movement together with her youngest daughter. The mother-daughter tandem seemed to enjoy the activity.
Aside from helping a community, this is also a great way to bond with your loved ones, significant others, or even just by yourself because learning something every day is already good.
Everyone who participates in the movement will receive a kit that they will use to build a solar light. Each solar kit comes with a solar panel parts and a manual. It costs 1,670.00 pesos and can be purchased through the CSR page on epalengke’s online platform. It will only take them less than 30 minutes to assemble the solar light.
As of today, Light it Forward has counted a total of 120 celebrities, influencers, and artists that participated in the movement. This includes the DJs from Easy Rock Manila, Love Radio Manila, and Yes the Best Manila. Aside from the different brands here in the Philippines, they also have partners abroad.
