Members of the Beach Boys aim to reunite and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the group this year, January 21, Thursday.

If time and pandemic situation permit, guitarist Al Jardine believes that they can celebrate their 60th year with a world tour. “I do believe we will. Well, not a tour. We’ll hit some very important … 10 or 20 areas of the world. Who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and have a renaissance, and present some of this great material again. It’s difficult to say, but it makes sense. I know there’s something in the works. I just can’t tell you when or where,” he said.

The group also confirmed that a TV special is on the table. “We’d like to explore that possibility. It’s always good to be able to look forward to something positive now, especially coming out of this horrendous year, to bring some beautiful, fresh, positive music to the world again.” Jardine said.

Started in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, the Beach Boys gained popularity through their songs entitled “Surfin,” “Darlin’,” “California Girls,” “Barbara Ann,” and many more.
