  Singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre has rewritten her song ‘Paubaya’ to honor the late former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III, June 25, Friday.

  Dela Torre performed with her husband, Jason Fernandez, at a Requiem Mass offered for the late former president in the Church of the Gesu, Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

  “Salamat sa oras, na kapiling ka” was the popular line. She rewrote a part of the song just 10 minutes before her performance. The revised version can be heard starting at the 1:35:20 mark of Radyo Katipunan’s Facebook Live of the said event.

  “It was her biggest hit but she rewrote the lyrics. Gusto ko magpasalamat kay Moira because she rewrote the lyrics so it could be dedicated to Noy,” Kris Aquino said.

  Benigno Aquino III, who served as Philippine president from 2010 to 2016, passed away yesterday, June 24, due to renal disease secondary to his diabetes condition.
