The long battle of Britney Spears against her father’s conservatorship has finally reached its conclusion after Jamie Spears conceded on the case, August 13, Friday.
Jamie Spears has agreed to step down of his role as conservator of Britney’s estate. “We are pleased that Mr. Spears and his lawyer have today conceded in a filing that he must be removed,” the singer’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart said in a statement.
Rosengart called the Jamie’s decision ‘a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice.’ The singer’s father has been controlling his daughter’s affairs after she suffered a mental health breakdown in 2008.
“Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator,” the court filing added.
