According to the OCTA Research Group, there are more Filipinos who are willing to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a nationwide face-to-face survey conducted around July 12 to July 18, out of 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above, 53% would be willing to get vaccinated with a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. This is far more different from the 19% result in a survey conducted in January 2021.
The problem on vaccine hesitancy is one of the reasons why Grab has launched it’s series of campaigns. These campaigns help the Philippine government strengthen its vaccination drive.
First, for the benefit of the riding public, the ride-hailing company has announced that discounted rides will be offered to users heading to and from vaccination sites. The discounted rides are carried out through the ‘Grab Car Bayanihan’ where rides will be 15% lower than normal rates.
Next, Grab, through their ‘GrabProtect Vacc to Normal’ campaign, is encouraging its users to get vaccinated by giving away promo vouchers to those who will submit their vaccination cards. Users will have a chance to win PhP 250,000 credited to their GrabPay accounts.
And finally, in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Grab is launching vaccination hubs which will be manned by personnel accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) and will be responsible for administering vaccine doses.
Just yesterday, Transport Network Vehicles Service (TNVS) drivers receive their first dose of vaccine against COVID-19 as part of the same ‘GrabProtect Vacc to Normal’ campaign. Vaccination of drivers took place at the newly launched Wilcon IT hub in Makati City.
“Through our ‘Vacc To Normal’ campaign, we are reinforcing our steadfast commitment to the well-being of our driver- and delivery-partners, and further motivate many Filipinos to get vaccinated,” said Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz.
So, for now, what you are going to do is to register to your Local Government Unit (LGU) to have your slot for a COVID-19 vaccine and when the slot becomes available, just book for a ride going to the vaccination site.
With this, we can curb the stem of the pandemic and we can help the country to bounce back to its glory.
Stay safe and sound!
