Jamie Spears, the father of the pop superstar Britney Spears, has reportedly petitioned the Los Angeles court to end her daughter’s conservatorship, September 7, Tuesday.
In a court filing, submitted in August, Jamie expressed his willingness to finally step down from the role after 13 years. He asked the court to end the entire conservatorship.
“Britney Spears is entitled to have this Court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required. Her circumstances have changed to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist,” Jamie Spears said in a new document cited by media outlets.
Britney Spears, 39, has recently been engaged to her long time boyfriend Sam Asghari. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny has scheduled next hearing on September 29.
