Ben&Ben’s Paolo Benjamin pays tribute to a fan who passed away

• A tribute for Melanie, isang Liwanag sa ating lahat.

  Si Melanie ay isang estudyanteng namayapa dalawang araw na ang nakalipas. Biktima siya ng sunog na nangyari sa Novaliches, QC. Nakausap namin yung mga malapit kay Mels, at hanggang sa huli, ang pinaglaban niya pa rin ay yung kapakanan ng mga mahal niya sa buhay, at yung pag-aaral at kinabukasan niya. Thank you for your bravery and compassion, Melanie. You’ll live on forever through the people whose lives you’ve touched.

  Vocalist Paolo Benjamin of the folk-pop band Ben&Ben has paid tribute to fan who recently passed away, November 4, Thursday.

  Paolo Benjamin performed at the wake of the 21-year-old Melanie Trinidad who passed away due to a fire at Novaliches, Quezon City on November 2.

  “Liwanag si Melanie. Kaya sa huling pagkakataon, pumunta kami sa service niya para makiramay at maghandog ng iilang mga awit. Let’s all pray for the repose of her soul,” Paolo Benjamin wrote in the Facebook page of the band alongside with his video singing at the wake of their fan.

  In the comment section, the nine-piece act shared the post from a certain fan-based Facebook group where Trinidad’s death was learned.

  The band also helped in the fund-raising efforts of family and friends by commenting the account numbers on the same post. “Hope we can help our co-Liwanag and her family. Thank you so much,” the band wrote.
