Pop start Britney Spears has been finally free from the 13-year conservatorship after a judge favored the termination, November 12, Friday.
In a written statement, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled, “The court finds the conservatorship of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required.” Effective that day, conservatorship over Spears’ person and estate are all terminated.
On her Twitter account, Spears celebrated with a tweet, “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy 🥺❤️ !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen 🙏🏼☀️🙌🏼 ???? #FreedBritney”
The hearing lasted for 31 minutes. Spears was not present, neither from phone nor video appearance. Her attorney Mathew Rosengart represented her. “What’s next for Britney, and this is the first time this could be said for about a decade, is up to one person: Britney. I will say that Britney has been put into a position through our collaboration and the work of our law firm to succeed … As of today, Britney is a free woman, she’s an independent woman,” Rosengart said.
Another hearing is scheduled on January 18, 2022 for the transfer of assets and any other pending financial items.
