The music streaming platform Spotify has unwrapped people’s jam in 2021 through ‘Spotify Wrapped,’ December 1, Wednesday.
On the first day of this month, towards the end of the year, the streaming platform has once again launched Spotify Wrapped. Wrapped is a feature where music lovers know more about their music activity and experience within the year.
It is a slideshow or a story, which social media users can share to platforms, that shows the songs, artists being listened the most, new music discovered, exact amount of time people spent listening to music. For this year, it is 13 parts long, with the user’s audio aura, top songs, top artists, and top podcasts. Users can also play a game titled, ‘Two Truths and a Lie,’ which is personalized with the user’s listening habits.
Spotify originally released their first iteration of Wrapped in 2015, titled as ‘Year in Music.’ During its peak, ‘Year in Music’ did not go viral, not until it was upgraded two years later to the customizable, jazzy graphic release as it is now.
