  • The Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne has announced that her iconic track titled ‘Sk8er Boi’ is being transformed into a movie, December 11, Saturday.

Lavigne made the announcement on the ‘She Is The Voice’ podcast on iHeart Radio. “A lot of people have been asking me to play this song on TV shows, it keeps getting brought back up. And I’m actually going to turn this song into a film! And just take it to the next level,” the pop star said.

The track’s transformation into a movie has been set to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Lavigne, now 37, wrote her debut album, titled ‘Let Go,’ at the age of 16, which includes ‘Sk8er Boi.’

‘Sk8er Boi’ has been tipped to become a movie in 2003. It was Paramount Pictures that hired ER writer David Zabel to adapt the song’s story into a movie.
