  • Feminists

There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to feminism ever since the movement started. For example, many believe that feminist are only for women when in fact, these famous men joined the movement towards gender equality.

    Chris Hemsworth

One of the founding members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe did not shy away from the fact that he plays dress up and nail painting with his daughter. In fact, according to Chris, his daughter told him that she wanted to have a penis and he responded with “You can be whoever you want to be.”

    Mark Ruffalo

Another founding member of the MCU, Ruffalo happily embraces his feminist side and does it every single day. He is also open about the impact of his mother’s own abortion in creating his views on women’s health access.

    Ian Somerhalder

The star of “The Vampire Diaries” created “Girls Impact the World Film Festival.” The aim of the film festival is to highlight creative solutions to the challenges women face worldwide.

    Daniel Craig

While playing one of the characters best described as a womanizer, James Bond actor Daniel Craig is an advocate for equal treatment and respect for women of all ages. He even described his character as a misogynist.

    Antonio Banderas

As a Goodwill Ambassador, Antonio Banderas usually speaks against age-based sexism in Hollywood and talks about the importance of valuing experienced professional female actors.

    Will Smith

You can consider Will Smith’s way of parenting as somehow unconventional in a toxic masculine’s definition, just like Chris Hemsworth. He let his daughter cut her hair short as he believed that his daughter should have control over her body.

    Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher is the co-founder of Thorn, which uses technology to end human trafficking. According to a speech delivered by Kutcher in front of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, human trafficking affects 800,000 people a year, 80% of whom are female.

    Tom Hardy

There was a viral meme about “feminist Tom Hardy” after he made a statement about giving the lead role in “Mad Max” to a female.

According to the Venom star, “It would be interesting to take the crime genre and replace men’s parts and have women play them, and not even question it. Just let it go.”

    Jason Mamoa

Jason Mamoa usually gets objectified because of his physique. The Aqua Man star said he empathizes with being objectified as majority called him “pretty boy.”

In addition, Mamoa said that strong women who raised the actor taught him to stand up for women.

    Matt Damon

Damon is the perfect example of a man who wasn’t comfortable with the term feminist before learning it’s definition. However, after hearing the definition, he claimed that he is a feminist.

What Does It Takes to be Feminists?

Sweetie, being a feminist doesn’t require you to be a woman or strip away your masculinity. The only requirement is to believe that women and men deserve equal rights in any situation. You also don’t have to be famous to express what you believe in. All you need to have is a strong will to fight for it.
