Shawn Mendes cancels world tour to prioritize his mental health

  Pop singer Shawn Mendes has announced on Instagram that he is cancelling his world tour to take care of himself and his mental health.

  “I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away,” he said. “It has become more clear that I need to take the time I’ve never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger,” the singer said in the post.

  Mendes’ ‘Wonder: The World Tour’ kicked off last June in Portland, Oregon, and will run until August 2023 across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe. The world tour promotes the singer’s latest album ‘Wonder.’

  The ‘Treat You Better’ singer was excited when he started touring again since the pandemic, but later on realized that he “wasn’t totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me.”

  Mendes’ did not announce when he will be resuming his world tour.
