Disney reveals first look at “The Little Mermaid” live-action reboot

  Walt Disney Studios revealed a glimpse of the remake of the 1989 classic Disney Princess animation The Little Mermaid, featuring Halle Bailey of the “Do It” twin performers “Chloe x Halle” as Ariel.

  The teaser showed Ariel swimming through the pile of human objects and later singing a rendition of the original theme song of the film, “Part of Your World.”

  Upon the trailer’s debut at the D23 Expo 2022 in Anaheim, California – the actress-singer quoted, “The three days filming ‘Part of Your World’ was the most beautiful experience of my life.” She added, “I’m sure all of you here can relate to Ariel and how special she is to all of us. Being a little girl swimming in the pool, imagining I was a mermaid, I never imagined that would come to life like this.”

  Alongside Halle Bailey joins Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs, as Sebastian the Crab, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle the Seagull.

  The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall and written by David Magee is set to arrive in theatres on May 26, 2023.
