Lily welcomes new lead vocalist: Joshua Bulot

  After months-long search, Filipino pop rock band Lily, formerly Callalily, has found its new lead vocalist.

  “The search is over! Meet our new vocalist Joshua Camacho Bulot,” they captioned in their group photo on Facebook.

  Bulot joins Lem Belaro (drums and chief songwriter), Aaron Ricafrente (bass guitar), Nathan Reyes (rhythm and lead guitar), and Alden Acosta (lead guitar and backing vocals).

  In a separate post, Bulot expressed how excited he is to be part of the award-winning OPM band. “I’m ready to be the vocalist of @lilymusicph,” he wrote.

  The five-piece band Lily was seen performing with Bulot for the first time on Monday, September 19.

  “Sana ma-meet ko lahat ng Callalily fans, ‘cause I’m a fan, too. ‘Di ko kayo bibiguin,” Bulot said in the comment section.

  Apart from singing, Bulot also works as a songwriter, actor, and freelance model. Before joining Lily, he made an appearance on The X Factor UK in 2017 with the OPM Trio group “JBK,” and was a cast member of the hit PETA musical Rak of Aegis in 2019.

  Recall that the band launched the “Search for the New Lily Vox” auditions in July following Kean Cipriano’s announcement of his disengagement.

  The band has since changed their name from “Callalily” to “Lily,” rejecting Cipriano’s asserted claim to the right to use the former.

  “The band members have always felt a sense of ownership over the name because of the fact that each of us represents the band and its music,” they stated.

  Lily also affirmed that after 17 years, the band’s former name was not built by one person but as a collective whole.

  As they leave the name behind and forge their own path as a group, the band said, “Given the circumstances, and considering our undying love for making Filipino music, we decided to pursue our passion under the new name “Lily.”
