Rex Orange County, a musician from the UK, is currently dealing with several charges of sexual assault.
O’Connor is alleged to have abused a woman (over 16 years old) six times throughout various interactions. On June 1st in the West End, it first occurred. Then, on June 2, another event occurred in a taxi, and three more took place at his Notting Hill house on the same day.
The 24-year-old musician, however, enters a plea of not guilty and rejects these charges brought against him in a London trial court, based on the arraignment. Furthermore, he was unconditionally released from custody before the January 2023 trial dates.
The artist’s representative released a statement that says:
“Alex is shocked by the allegations which he denies and looks forward to clearing his name in court. He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.”
O’Connor was scheduled to perform in Manila in 2020 but postponed his entire Asia tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. More so, he also postponed his dates in July 2022 due to “unforeseen personal circumstances” that meant he would “have to spend some time at home this year” and would “not be able to continue with touring as planned.”
Pop, hip-hop, and jazz British singer-songwriter Rex Orange County is known for his top hits “Pluto Projector,” “Sunflower,” “AMAZING,” and more. His career kicked off after his collaborations with Tyler the Creator’s 2017 studio album “Flower Boy. “
