(Updated) “It’s happening. It’s here. And it’s real.”

English pop rock band The 1975  is coming to Manila to play for two nights at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on May 3 and 4, 2023.

PULP Live World initially made the announcement for a one-night show on Friday, October 21.

After the tickets were sold out, the concert promoter surprised fans that the band will add a second show the following night at the same venue.

Tickets for the Day 2 concert will be available beginning November 19 at SM Tickets outlets nationwide and online at smtickets.com. Prices range from P1,975 to P9,750.

The show announcement follows the release of The 1975’s new album, “Being Funny In A Foreign Language”, on October 14.

The Manila gig is part of the band’s Asia-Pacific leg, which also includes Japan, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand.

The group made a comeback in July with the latest single and music video “Part Of The Band” and initially teased its fifth studio album.

The 1975 last performed in the Philippines in 2019. The band’s first concert in Manila was in 2015 and it also participated in the In the Mix music festival in 2016.

Composed of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel, The 1975 is behind the hit songs “Chocolate,” “The Sound,” “Somebody Else,” “Girls,” and “Sex,” to name a few.
