It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s meAt tea time, everybody agrees 🎶
Following the cancellation of general sales for the upcoming Eras Tour, Ticketmaster issued an apology to Taylor Swift and to her Swifties on Friday.
“We strive to make ticket buying as easy as possible for fans, but that hasn’t been the case for many people trying to buy tickets for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour,” Ticketmaster prefaced in the statement. “First, we want to apologize to Taylor and all of her fans — especially those who had a terrible experience trying to purchase tickets.”

“Next, we feel we owe it to everyone to share some information to help explain what happened,” the statement continued.
On Thursday, Swifties were outraged when they discovered they had been locked out of the general sale for the pop superstar’s long-awaited tour.“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled,” Ticketmaster tweeted without further explanation.

To which Swift responded via an Instagram story, “It goes without saying that I’m extremely protective of my fans,”
“It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”

“There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward,” she wrote without mentioning Ticketmaster but alluded to the ticketing fiasco. “I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them multiple times if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could.”
She added that it was “truly amazing” that 2.4 million people got tickets.
“But it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them,” she continued.
Swift’s latest tour, which comes on the heels of her record-breaking new album release “Midnights,” has set 52 dates so far, the singer’s largest tour to date.
