Moira Dela Torre inks contract with Republic Records

  Republic Records, the Universal Music Group label, has now welcomed Moira Dela Torre to its impressive roster of music artists as the “Babalik Sa’yo” singer signed a contract with the record label on November 24.

  UMG Philippines Managing Director Enzo Valdez, UMG Southeast Asia CEO Calvin Wong, and Cornerstone Entertainment, Inc. Vice President Jeff Vadillo were also present in the welcome party.
  
  Dela Torre admitted that she never entertained the thought of being signed to Republic Records. “I felt honored… but with how these people have empowered artists and I have friends in this label who have nothing but great things to say… I felt very much excited.”
  
  “I think nowadays, it’s not anymore a thing of transfers or choosing this side over this side, I think with this partnership, it’s more of a collaboration.” she continued.
  
  Although she will continuously create what she’s used to, her fans can also expect a different sound from her. “I’ve actually started enjoying new things and the new sound that some of my friends helped me find, I’m just really excited.”

  Meanwhile, Wong said he has been very interested in working with the 29-year-old for a long time. “With the machinery of Universal Music Group, we firmly believe and we are very passionately trying to bring Moira to new markets.”
  
  He also added that their priority is to market the singer-songwriter first and not do collaborations for now. According to Valdez, their goal for her is to “go regionally, globally, and be a star that everyone will see.”
  
  Apart from joining a new record label, Dela Torre recently released “Aking Habangbuhay” which she recorded for Star Cinema’s movie “An Inconvenient Love” starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
  
  The hugot hitmaker is also prepared to kick off her international tour on February 3, 2023 at the Araneta Coliseum. Tickets went on sale on November 7 via www.ticketnet.com.ph.
