Janine Berdin lands on New York Times Square Billboard

  Janine Berdin is ecstatic as she got featured on the New York Times Square billboard in the United States courtesy of Spotify.

  This comes after the 20-year-old songstress was named the streaming app’s Equal program ambassador for the month of December which highlights women musicians across the globe.

  Berdin, who was also the cover star of Spotify’s “Best of Equal” playlist in the Philippines, could not hide her joy on seeing her name and photo on the faces of the skyscrapers in the city of New York.

  “Dako kaayo akong nanwg sa New York Times Square. Tungod jud ni ninyooooo. Salamat kaayo ninyo. Thank you for listening to my music,” she captioned a Facebook post.

  In addition to this, she received nearly 62 million streams on the music platform this year alone. This is a significant increase from 1.4 million streams in 2021.

  “This year versus last year… My dream, it’s actually happening. Writing music and singing, and people listening. Thank you to all my dearest friends in music. I will make you all proud. I love you, OPM,” she wrote early this month.

  Berdin is the second season grand champion 0f Tawag ng Tanghalan, an amateur singing competition of the noontime television show It’s Showtime. Dubbed as the Gem of OPM, she is behind the hit singles, “Mahika,” “Nasa Puso,” and “Mas Mabuti Pa” among others.
