Bieber wrote, “I didn’t approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M… all without my permission and approval.”
Global fashion retailer H&M released a statement on Thursday, saying it had the rights to sell Justin Bieber products.
Given their partnership with the artist since 2016, they stated: “Justin’s license holder has confirmed that H&M had the right contracts in place and followed all proper approval procedures for each selected design.”
Separately, the brand stressed that the Bieber products were pulled out from the shelves – be they physically sold or online. “Out of respect for Justin, we removed the products from our site and stores, and we’re working to find the best way to make use of them.”
H&M sold Bieber-related merchandise – including but not limited to hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, phone accessories, and tote bags. The design included pictures of the said singer, excerpts from song lyrics, and more.
Justin Bieber sells his merchandise the same way H&M did – products relevant to his music and likeness. More so, he owns “Drew” – a streetwear brand paying homage to his middle name. The apparel brand consists of bucket hats, jackets, and other clothing.
