Selena Gomez goes on social media break amid Hailey Bieber drama

  Selena Gomez has reclaimed the title of Instagram’s most-followed woman and she is ‘celebrating’ by taking yet another social media break.

  The 30-year old previously held the title until she took a social media hiatus in 2018 to address her mental health. She now has 387 million followers, surpassing Kylie Jenner’s 379 million.

  Despite being the reigning social media queen, the singer, actress, and producer has announced a social media hiatus.

  “I deleted this one time because I thought maybe it was too much but eh (taking a break from social),” she wrote on Instagram.

  In addition to this, Gomez reportedly left TikTok following squabbles with Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner. As of this writing, her account has been reactivated.
  
  On Tuesday, February 21, Gomez revealed in an Instagram Story that she had “accidentally laminated” her brows too much. A few hours later, Jenner shared a selfie with the caption “[This] was an accident???” written across her brows.

  The media personality also shared a screenshot of herself and her friend, Bieber, who appeared to be on FaceTime, with a close-up of their brows.

  Needless to say, social media users mistook Jenner’s posts for a direct jab to Gomez. The Kardashians star, on the other hand, shut down the rumors, saying, “This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! [You] guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”
  
  To which Gomez chimed in, writing, “Agreed @kyliejenner It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

  Shortly after this exchange, Gomez jumped into the comments of a resurfaced clip featuring Bieber seemingly gagging at Taylor Swift’s name.

  “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game,” she commented.

  In a TikTok Live, Gomez spoke in more detail about taking a sabbatical from the Internet.

  “I’m going to be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. I’m 30, I’m too old for this. But I love you guys so much and I will see you guys sooner than later,” she said.

  “I’m just gonna take a break from everything,” she added. “I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn’t be happier. I’m good, I love the way I am, I don’t care. I’m big, I’m not, I don’t care. I love who I am.”
